Why Orders Are Not in Real Time

Why repleno bundles orders instead of sending them immediately: lower shipping costs, less effort, better planning for suppliers.

repleno does not order immediately after every scan. Requirements are bundled and transferred to your suppliers at a configurable time. This is not a technical limitation, but a conscious decision: for lower costs, less effort, and better planning.

Why Daily Bundling Is Better

Cost savings:

  • Lower shipping costs (one delivery instead of five individual shipments)
  • Fewer invoices (one instead of five)
  • Fewer minimum order surcharges (surcharge for small order quantities)

Planning for suppliers:

  • Fixed order times (e.g. daily at 3:00 PM)
  • Suppliers can plan routes
  • Better conditions through reliable ordering routines

Less effort for your team:

  • Unpack one delivery instead of five
  • Book goods receipt once instead of five times
  • Fewer interruptions during the workday

Emergencies Can Occur

Handle real emergencies as before: Contact your supplier.

  1. Critical item is missing
  2. Trigger an out-of-sequence order
  3. Request a special delivery or pick it up yourself

After a few weeks, emergencies will noticeably decrease and become the exception. If you continue to struggle with missing parts, the minimum stock levels are set too low.

Best Practices

  • Communicate the dispatch time to your team (e.g. a notice: "Order deadline daily at 3:00 PM")
  • Document emergencies and review after 4-8 weeks (e.g. always the same item → increase minimum stock)
  • Involve suppliers (fixed order times make planning easier)
