Sites and Transfers
How repleno handles multiple sites: stock, reorder points, and replenishment apply per site, and demand can be met by transferring from another site.
Stock is tracked per storage location, and each storage location belongs to a site. The site is the level above it: its own delivery address, its own access.
Site and storage location
Two levels with different jobs:
- Storage location is stock-bearing. This is where stock, reorder point, and maximum stock sit.
- Site groups storage locations, with its own delivery address and its own access.
A storage location is therefore always the pair of both, and the same name can exist at several sites:
- Headquarters / Hall 1
- Bielefeld plant / Hall 1
Why per storage location
Because every place has its own demand. A shortage in "Bielefeld plant / Hall 1" triggers demand right there, while the same item at headquarters stays untouched.
Replenishment from your own stock
A storage location can be the supply source of another. A central warehouse with high stock serves the small ones: when a small warehouse runs empty, it pulls from the central warehouse by transfer instead of ordering from the wholesaler. An external order only follows once the central warehouse itself drops below its reorder point.
This saves external orders and consolidates purchasing. And when a storage location runs empty unexpectedly, repleno shows where the same item still sits.
We set up multiple sites on request.
